there is a moment

Wait--no there's not. I hear Samuel.

Oh well, he can work to get those soothing hands to his mouth for a minute.

So Samuel was born on March 26 and he is fabulous. I declare that he is our easiest baby for which we are very thankful. It's not that he's a fabulous sleeper--it's just that he seems so much more content and I am not so much on pins and needles as I was with the others. Maybe it's the 3rd and last time around and the knowledge of that that makes me just want to stare at him all the time. thankfully, the other 2 go to school and so I have the pleasure of doing that while not ignoring Jesse and Luci.

He is now 2 months old and in those 2 months, so much has happened. My parents have come and gone, as well as Jennifer, and now the Scandrette fam of 5 is here and we have 10 people sleeping in this house. And I am surprised at how well we have shared this space. It's been fun having ALL of our visitors.

Jesse had his first concert (after many afternoons in choir club) a week ago. He did great and it was awesome to see so many kids show their musical and acting skills as well as mingle with the parents and eat ethnic food afterwards. Luci continues to be a whole load of fun and funny, more on that later. The warm weather is unmatched in longevity to any we experienced last year at this time and it has brought the children flooding onto the pavement in front of our place. This means we have seen J grow into more of his boyhood as he now has regular football games with the neighborhood boys. It's just the outlet I've been praying for for him and you can see how much it pleases him to run around and get sweaty. In fact, he took his first real shower last night after coming in drenched. It was a hoot to hear him laugh and say "it tickles" as the water hit his skin.

I'm off.
